Dr. Mahdi MAlekshahi byranvand
Dr. Mahdi Malekshahi Byranvand received his Ph.D. degree in Inorganic Chemistry in 2016 at the University of Tehran. Previously, he worked on different parts of perovskite solar cells during his postdoctoral fellows at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), and Sharif University of technology. His research interests are currently focused on All-Inorganic perovskite crystallization, various passivation techniques and perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells in the Prof. Michael Saliba group.
Dr. Clara Aranda Alonso
Dr. Clara Aranda Alonso received her Ph.D degree in Science with international mention in 2019 at the Institute of Advanced Materials (INAM) of University Jaume I of Castellón (Spain). Supervised by Prof. Juan Bisquert, her thesis was focused in the synthesis and optimization of perovskite solar cells based in wide band-gap materials and their optoelectronic characterization through Impedance Spectroscopy. During her PhD, three main research stays were done. In 2015, 2017 and 2018 with the group of Prof. Michael Grätzel at EPFL (Switzerland), the group of Prof. Christoph Brabec at the i-MEET institute of Erlangen (Germany) after achieving a COST action project grant and Prof. Saliba´s group at the AMI institute in Fribourg (Switzerland). In November of 2019 she performed her thesis defence and since August 2020 she is part of the Prof. Michael Saliba´s group as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Photovoltaic (IPV) at the University of Stuttgart. Her current research interest is focused on perovskite materials for optoelectronic applications.
José Juan Jeronimo Rendon
José Juan Jeronimo Rendon is a PhD student in Prof. Michael Saliba’s group at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. Currently, he is working on perovskite optoelectronics materials applications. He received his M. Sc degree in Semiconductors devices in 2019 from Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Mexico, working on Development of Perovskite solar cells with mixing of organic and inorganic cations with IR thermal treatment. He was an internship half a year at the Adolphe Merkle Institute (AMI), Fribourg, Switzerland under the supervision of Prof. Michael Saliba.
Mayank Kedia is a Ph.D. student joined the group in Feb 2020. His research interest is in perovskite optoelectronics, focusing on LEDs and low-temperature processing of perovskite materials.
Mayank completed dual degree Erasmus Mundus Masters in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (EMM-NANO) in 2019 from KU Leuven, Belgium and TU Dresden, Germany. His Master’s thesis work on deposition and characterization of thin films by the Organic Vapor Jet Printing Method was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Karl Leo. In 2017, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (NITK), India.
Seyma Topcu is a Ph.D. student at the Institute for Photovoltaics (ipv) of the University of Stuttgart, Germany under the supervision of Prof. Michael Saliba, working on fabrication and characterization of perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. She is conducting her research with a coworking of Industrial Silicon Solar Cell (IndSol) research group of ipv.
She received her master’s degree in Materials Science in 2019 from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and worked on defect engineered metal-oxide materials in Advanced Thin Film Technology (ATFT) research group of Prof. Lambert Alff.
He is a Ph.D student in Prof. Michael Saliba’s group at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. Currently, he is working on Synthesis, characterization and aging of polyelemental perovskite materials for photovoltaics.
In 2019, he received his master degree in Materials Science from Technische Universität Darmstadt working on the Fabrication and characterization of mixed cation perovskite solar cells via co-evaporation method. He did his bachelor in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 2016 focusing on Aluminum based composite materials for aerospace applications from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Pakistan.
Weiwei Zuo is a Ph.D. student in Prof. Michael Saliba’s group at the University of Stuttgart, working on perovskite solar cells. He was graduated and fetched his Master’s degree from Zhengzhou University in China. From 2017-2019, he was visiting in Prof. Antonio’s group in Helmholtz-Zentrum-Berlin (HZB), focusing on the interface of perovskite solar cells.
DR. ANTONIO GAETANO RICCIARDULLI
Dr. Antonio Gaetano Ricciardulli received his Ph. D. degree in Chemistry in 2018 at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPI-P), Mainz (Germany), working on solution-processed 2D materials for optoelectronics under the supervision of Prof. Paul Blom. After a post-doc experience at MPI-P in the field of perovskite light-emitting diodes from, he joined the group of Prof. Michael Saliba at TU-Darmstadt as a postdoctoral scientist. His current research interests focus on perovskite optoelectronics and 2D materials applications.
DR. WEIFEI FU
Weifei Fu is a postdoc at TU-Darmstadt in Prof. Michael Saliba’s group, working on perovskite solar cells. He received his Ph.D degree from Zhejiang University, China. From 2017-2019, he worked as a postdoc associate at the University of Washington in Prof. Alex K.-Y. Jen’s group, focusing on quasi-two-dimensional perovskite solar cells.
Rashmi Runjhun, M.Sc.
Rashmi Runjhun received Mobility of IPC PAS young researchers grant to carry out a short research project at Prof. Saliba’s lab. At Salibalab, she worked on pure inorganic perovskite materials. Currently she is working at Prof. Graetzel’ lab at EPFL, where she is focusing on passivation of perovskite layer.
In May 2017, she joined Professor Lewinski’s group under the Marie Curie funded NaMeS Program, where she is currently working on the development of new hybrid organic-inorganic materials for perovskite solar cells. Rashmi Runjhun received her dual degree BS-MS in Physics from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, India in 2014.

Jeevan Torres, M.Sc.
Jeevan is a visitor at Prof. Michael Saliba’s group working on triple cation perovskites solar cells. He received a bachelor’s degree on electrical engineering at Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (UAZ) in Mexico, supervised by Dr. Diego Esparza, working on Optoelectronic properties of solar cells based on perovskite. He continued in the same Photovoltaic Materials Research Group (GIMF-UAZ) for his master. He was also a visitor at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin in Prof. Antonio Abate’s group supervised by Dr. Silver Turren-Cruz.
