Perovskite Photovoltaics and Stability
A relatively new type of solar cell based on a family of materials known as perovskites is investigated. Despite impressively high efficiencies, perovskite solar cells face challenges such as long-term durability that prevent them from competing with established technologies. We study long-term material and device stability to better identify intrinsic versus extrinsic degradation mechanisms.
We study various alternative perovskite materials that can serve in applications like optoelectronics, e.g. detectors such as scintillators for medical devices.
New Material Design
One of the main research direction is focused on studying emerging low-dimensional materials showing promising optoelectronic properties. Here the fundamental properties of perovskite materials and their ability to form new alloyed materials are investigated in depth.
